Golf

Next to my working carreer I am trying to build another carreer namely Golf. Not the car, but the sport (also referred to as game).  A few months ago I signed up with ANWB Golf, a nationwide organisation, with which you can register your handicap. The starting handicap is 36 (the standard starting handicap the beginners).

When registering with the ANWB Golf you are obligated to send in 5 scorecards which must be marked and signed by an official marker. After having send in 5 scorecards and having registered the score online you don’t have to send in the scorecards anymore. Instead you have to regsiter your scorecards online, and your new handicap will be calculated (ANWB Golf can ask for one of the registered scorecards, so don’t throw them away).

Since my first registration I’ve send in 6 scorecards so far and my handicap has dropped to 20! This years goal is to end up with handicap 15, so I am well underway. Last monday I’ve played my first tournament of this year. My playing handicap was 14, and my Stableford points were 30. Not too bad if I may say so.

Next year I am going to compeed in the ANWB Golf tournaments. When I compeed in more than 4 scorecards I automatically compeed in the overall competition. Let’s find out how I will perform under pressure.

Next stop is Cochem. I will keep you informed on my performance there.

Marcel:

Good luck with your goal to hit 15. We’re a group of golfers setting up a website: http://www.forelinksters.com The idea is to creat a website of golf courses from scratch, and provide updates to conditions and ratings. It’s also has a wikipedia feature which allows everyone to correct or expand on the course descriptions, and to contact other members. We’re still in the beta stage, but are looking for feedback from other users. We’re from Orlando, and have posted most of the worthy courses here, some in Scotland and Ireland, and the rest of the US. If you are inclined, please take a look and let me know any feedback. When you put the above url into your browser, a login in page comes up, put in golf for the username, and linksters for the password. You then gain access to the site, and can become a member. Thanks in advance for any help you could provide. Regards, Robert Reilly
