Hey guys,
Here are my result at the Dorhout Mees match for the Pin High Surprise Tour. Maybe you can learn from my mistakes. First I walked the blue course, and the white. The numbers displayed in bold are course pars. The numbers displayed in italic are personal handicap pars.
Blue
- Tee off was a bit long. Second shot went into the water, followed by shot over the green. Chip and 2 puts (7)
- Tee off a bit on the right. Second shot with rescue on apron. Chip and 2 puts (5)
- Tee off with rescue. Too long over green into rough. Shot out of the grass went about 10 cm. I decided to drop the ball. Chip and 2 puts (7)
- Tee off went straight into the water. Second shot ended up in the water as well. Third shot went straight to the green. Chip and 2 puts (8)
- Tee off on right into the rough. Out of the rough with a 9 iron. Third shot on the apron (about 150 mt). Chip and 2 puts (6)
- Tee off too much length, into the rough. Played a provisional ball, just in case. Found my first ball and played along. Second shot on green, 2 puts (4)
- Short par3 over water. First shot into bunker. Second shot on 10 cm off the hole. 1 put (3)
- Tee off went 100 meter into the air, with not much length. Second shot on the green. Long put, needed 2 strokes (4)
- Tee off was good, second shot ended up in the rough. Missed the third shot with my 7 iron and took the rescue for the fourth shot. Long ball into the rough nextto the green. Great chip and 1 put (7).
White
- Small lane, first shot in the rough, second shot on the green. Third shot right from the green, great chip and lousy puts. Needed 3 puts (7).
- Tee off about 230 mt. Chip and 2 puts (4)
- Short par3. First shot on green and 2 puts (3)
- First shot in the rough, second shot with rescue on the apron. Chip and 2 puts (5)
- Tee off was great as well as the second shot. Third shot ended up the green, birdie change. Needed 3 puts (6)
- Tee off ended next to a swan couple. I used a free drop. Chip was way too short and needed 3 puts (5)
- Tee off in heavy rough. Chip out of rough ended up in the rough again. Third shot on apron. Chip and 2 puts (6)
- Tee off in the rough. Out of the rough with my rescue ended up in the left rough before the green. Chip and 2 puts (5)
- Tee off in the rough. Second shot over the water over the green. Chip to short and needed 2 puts (5).
Results
33 at pl. hcp 20, and 29 at 3/4 hcp. I played in my buffer so this game has no effect on my handicap.
Lessons learned
- Tee off; I need to straighten my tee off with my wood3. If I learn to push the tee off over the fairway it will improve my game with 4-5 points;
- Puts; Out of the 18 holes, about 16 were to short. From the 16 about 10 way too short. I need to practice my puts more often;
- Don’t use my rescue on a short par 3.
